AZSASA concerns itself with a number of issues related to school-averse students and education.
Education Myths. AZSASA strives to eliminate incredibly damaging education myths plaguing students, parents, and teachers: the myth that school is the only place to learn, the myth that a high school diploma is necessary for employment, college admission, or success in general, the myth that schooling is an essential life experience, and other myths.
Social Stigma. AZSASA seeks to counteract prejudices, such as those against school-averse students, voluntary dropouts, homeschoolers, and GED holders, that discourage students from educational self-determination.
Misinformed Parents. AZSASA seeks to educate well-intentioned but misinformed parents whose parental decisions impede on their child’s educational self-determination.
